Commonsense
We had been mulling over an idea for a limited run magazine for a while now... A group sourced publication.
We invited a number of artists, designers, writers, publishers, photographers and creative thinkers to submit 60 copies of a double-sided A3 piece of work. They decided how they executed the piece - hand-drawn, photocopy, montage, digital, cartoon or text. They chose what paper they use and whether each of the pages they submit is to be exactly the same or unique. All we asked was that they produced 60 copies / versions and posted them to us. We would then paginate the pages and perfect bind them into 60 copies of an A4 portrait-formatted magazine.
Each contributor receives one copy, the rest will be sold at our Holmfirth Art Week show, with 20% of sales going to Macmillan Cancer Support. The 'theme' and title - 'CommonSense' - is the springboard.
